Series Opener
In this assignment, it is being simulated that the student has been hired by Netflix to create the opening credit sequence for their latest original series. Through a 90-SECOND SERIES OPENER, I needed to express the world of the series through art design and editing. I used the pilot episode of the show “Young Bloods” from the writer Stacey Russel. After reading the script, collecting online footage and creating a vision of how I intended the intro to look, this is the result.
Modernized Trailer
The task is to re-imagine the trailer from older iconic movies as part of an online marketing campaign. I selected the Japanese 1960 movie “Jigoku” from the director Nobuo Nakagawa and utilize footage from the film to create a modern style trailer that aims to captivate the audience while generating curiosity.
STOP-MOTION Short Film
As the final assignment of a course, I needed to create a short film to demonstrate a clear understanding about narrative filmmaking. In the pursuit of a challenge, I opted to adventure myself in the world of stop-motion films. That is how the film “Arms” was created. After deciding to create it in a 8 FPS format for emotional portrayal, the final result end up becoming a tribute to a personal loss.
Interpretation of Footage
With the guidance of a script, the student needed to use the footage that the professor provided to visually consolidate the written scene. Therefore, I was given freedom to select camera angles, camera movements, background music and any other type of footage to create a cut that portrays the final product.
